Nestled on a small street in Parthenay, this restaurant is reservation-only, by choice of the chef and owner, who has operated this way for about fifteen years and is alone in the kitchen and dining room. Surprising, even impossible, you might say? Yet it's true. He offers us a stunning culinary experience all on his own, thanks to his meticulous and skillfully orchestrated organization. You'll discover this even more after the "kitchen rush," when it's time for cheese and dessert. There were 9 of us last night, spread around a round table, perfect for allowing guests to enjoy each other and appreciate the various dishes on offer. For the starter, I loved the Warm Pan-Seared Duck Foie Gras with Sweet Potato in Coconut Milk and Raspberry Vinegar Sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed my Scallop Cannelloni with Parsnip and Marshmallow (Swiss Cheese), Sea Urchin and Endive Cream (although the stuffing would have benefited from being a little more seasoned). Next came the Cheese Cart, all of which were perfect and delicious. Finally, the Crème Brûlée with St. Germain Liqueur was refined (although I was less convinced by the Tulip of Fresh Fig Compote with Sweet Spices). The restaurant's interior is warm, housed in an old house. I highly recommend it (but be sure to make a reservation). ”
